President & CEO

We are seeking a visionary and results-oriented CEO to lead MI-UCP into its next phase of growth and success. As the highest-ranking executive, you will be responsible for setting the company's strategic direction, building a high-performing team, and driving financial performance and operational excellence. You will serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the company, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including donors, the individuals and community we serve, and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan that aligns with the MI-UCP's vision and values, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth.
· Operational Excellence:
Oversee all aspects of the MI-UCP's operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
· Financial Performance:
Drive financial performance and profitability, managing budgets, cash flow, and capital allocation.
· Development and Fundraising
Ensure business development grants and fund-raising programs meet the goals established for MI-UCP.
· Advocacy:
Creates innovative partnerships with businesses, government, and other organizations contributing to MI-UCP’s advocacy efforts.
· CEO/Board Partnership
Works closely and openly with the Board and Committees to ensure ongoing communications of risks, issues, and successes.
· External Liaison and Public Image:
Cultivates effective relationships with external stakeholders: UCP National; donors and sponsors; government agencies and legislators; advocacy and other external consultants; and leaders of other associations designated as high-priority benchmarking and/or advocacy partners.
· Team Leadership:
Build, motivate, and develop a high-performing team and foster a positive and inclusive company culture.
· Compliance and Ethics:
Ensure MI-UCP operates ethically and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:

Experience: Proven track record of success as a leader in a similar industry, with at least 8 years of proven leadership experience, and at least five years in a non-profit setting.

Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute successful business plans.

Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial principles and practices, with the ability to manage budgets and drive financial performance.

Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the non-profit industry and market trends.

Education: Bachelor’s degree is required and master’s degree preferred.

Loan Coordinator / Financial Coach
​
This position plays a crucial role in fulfilling our mission by guiding applicants through the loan process, from initial inquiry to closing. This position requires a compassionate, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills, who is committed to serving the disability community through their ability to share information in an accessible manner and be an asset to our MATLF team.

The Loan Coordinator will be responsible for assessing loan eligibility, providing financial counseling, and ensuring compliance with all lending policies and regulations, while maintaining a client-centric approach that aligns with MI-UCP values.

Essential Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for loan applicants, providing clear and comprehensive information about our loan programs, eligibility criteria, and application process.

Conduct initial consultations to understand applicants' financial needs and goals, offering empathetic and supportive guidance.

Assist applicants in completing loan applications, collecting necessary documentation, and understanding required disclosures.

Provide basic financial literacy education and referrals to internal or external resources as needed.

Maintain accurate and organized loan files.

Assist with the preparation of reports related to loan portfolio performance, outreach efforts, and impact metrics.

Assist with the creation of training materials and facilitate small classes in both in-person and remote settings.

Manage Confidential information with required care.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration or Economics preferred or 1-3 years equivalent experience in lending, financial services, or a related field. Preference for experience in a nonprofit or community-focused environment.

Must complete a Excel Skills assessment.

Ability to pass a certified financial coach certification within 90 days.

Spanish speaking preferred but not required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 programs - particularly Excel.

Communicate loan decisions to applicants, explaining terms and conditions clearly and respectfully, regardless of approval status.

Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
